Following a brief illness, Robert William Hamilton passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, surrounded by family.
Although Bob claimed to have ‘never worked a day in his life’, he was an Automotive Technician since the early 70s and later a business partner at Water Street Auto Ltd. He took great pride in his work and truly relished the friends he made during his time there. Most recently, in retirement, he enjoyed country living, his old autos and driving deliveries all over Ontario for a local business.
Born in Brantford. Predeceased by father William Hamilton (Betty) and mother Kathleen Turvey (Ernie). He lived most of his life in Cambridge and Ayr with his wife and best friend, Patricia (Johnson) Hill.
Father to Daniel Hamilton (Alicia), Heather Gibbons and Step-dad to Molly Hill, Grandpa Bob to Jasper and Lyle, Lochlain and Ember. With large families on both sides, he enjoyed meaningful connections with all of his siblings and in-laws.
His loyal friendship will be missed by so many. Everyone has a ‘Bob story’ and we look forward to hearing them all at a Celebration of Life to take place at a date yet to be determined.
One of Bob’s favourite things was watching his grandsons play ball each summer. Donations can be made in his memory to a fund set-up for Cambridge Cubs Travel Teams (Cambridge Minor Ball Association).

Or a donation to a charity of your choice in Bob’s name would also be appropriate.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of HAMILTON Robert William 2019..
