Gladys Marie Ackerson 19282019

The passing of
Gladys Marie Ackerson of Ripples NB, occurred on Thursday, May 30,
2019 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. She was
90.
Born in
Ripples NB on June 11, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Clarence
Tapley and Martha Alberta (Bertie)
Bishop.
A member of
the Ripples United Pentecostal Church, she was the manager of the
McGowan’s Corner Convenience Store in Sheffield for many
years and a seamstress for Margolian’s in Fredericton as
well as a mail carrier.
Survived by
her son Paul and his wife Nancy of Maugerville, several nieces,
nephews and cousins. Besides her parents Clarence & Bertie
Tapley, Gladys was predeceased by her husband Stanley, siblings Ada
(Paul) MacDonald, Audrey (Russell) Hunter, Gordon (Mary) Tapley and
Glen Tapley.
Resting at the
Ripples United Pentecostal Church, 548 Route 670, Ripples NB, on
Saturday, June 1st from 2-4 & 7-9 PM,
where her funeral service will take place on Sunday June
2nd, 2019 at 2PM with Rev. Donald McCarty
officiating. Interment to follow in the Ripples Community
Cemetery.
For those who
wish, donations in Glady’s memory can be made to a charity
of the donor’s
choice.
The family
would also like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Wendy
Arnott and Dorean Leet, as well as special friends Garnet and Doreen
Ackerson and Kathy Ring. Special thanks to Dr’s Fraser and
Brown for their care to Gladys over the years. Also, appreciation to
the Doctor’s and Nursing Staff at the OPH. Pallbearers for
the service will be, Glen, Larry and Gary Ackerson and Ronald
Hunter.
