Obituary for Garry Allan Hackett
Garry Hackett of Oakville passed away peacefully in Oakville on May 27, 2019. Garry was born in Toronto on April 18, 1935. He attended Western Tech High School. Garry worked as an Insurance Broker and owned his own brokerage. He understood the importance of a work/life balance and enjoyed participating in his sport of passion golf, as well as, skiing, curling and playing mushball, then slow-pitch for 40+ years on the team named after his company, Chartwell Insurance.
His love for his family was first and foremost to him. Garry is survived by his wife Katharine Hackett, daughter Kelly Leslie (Ken), son Corey Hackett (Helen), adored by his grandchildren Colleen, Sydney, Josh and Serena. He was predeceased by his oldest son Kevin and his brothers Don, Bill, Les and sister Pat. A Celebration of Life in Garry’s honour will be held at Pipes and Taps, 231 Oak Park Blvd., #101, Oakville, Ont. On Sunday, June 2, 2019 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. (A toast to Garry will be held at 1:30 p.m.)
