Freda Dalzell 2019

Freda Dalzell
Died peacefully in hospital with family at her side. Freda is survived by Lloyd, her devoted husband of 63 years and their three children: Debbie (Bob Hodgins), Bob (Carmen) and Marc (Laurie). Freda leaves her four grandchildren, Natalie (John Gadsden), David (Keesha), Hannah and Emma and two great-grandsons, Grant and Zane, as well as her sister, Rosemarie Bahr of Toronto, nieces and nephews throughout Canada and cousins in Switzerland and Germany.
Freda was born February 5, 1934, to Manfred and Hedwig Bahr in Montreal, where she grew up and attended teachers’ college. Her first teaching position took her to Rouyn-Noranda, where she met Lloyd. They married and moved to Windsor in 1955. Freda continued to teach, part-time as their children arrived. She began to teach English as a Second Language to adult newcomers, and that became her passion, along with her children and then grandchildren.
As her arthritis grew worse and her mobility more impaired, Freda continued to be the centre of her family, on the phone and FaceTime. If you so desire, donations to The Salvation Army or to an animal charity would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Friday, May 31, 2019 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Funeral Saturday 11:00 a.m. at FAMILIES FIRST, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor, 519-969-5841. Cremation to follow.
