Ethel Marinelli 1929 2019

Obituary of Ethel Marinelli
MARINELLI- Ethel
(Resident of Haliburton, Ontario). Passed away peacefully at Riverview Manor in Peterborough, on Monday, April 22, 2019 one week before her 90th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Albert Marinelli (2011). Loving sister of Ken Stresman (Shirley). Predeceased by brother Edwin Stresman and sister Dorothy Marr (nee Stresman). Also lovingly remembered by sisters and brothers-in law Beulah Wilson, Jackie & Alfred Marinelli, Lena & Cal Peyton and Cindy & Tony Marinelli. Devoted mother of Terry Hartwick (Karl), Randy Marinelli (Deborah) and Karen Marinelli. Cherished Grandma of Michael Hartwick (Pamela), and Cailey Hartwick (Jeremy) and Great Grandma of Mason Hartwick, Marshall Hartwick, and Jocelyn Mount. Lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ethel was born in Welland County, the daughter of Fred Stresman and Ida (nee Bramburger). Ethel and Albert were married in 1947 after their high school friendship blossomed into a life-long love and devotion to one another. They lived and raised their children in Port Colborne amongst their family and friends. As Albert’s career progressed, Ethel moved with her husband to Vineland and then Toronto before retiring in Lindsay near where they had cottaged for many years. Ethel and her husband loved to travel. They drove across Canada and the US numerous times enjoying adventures together and making friends along the way. They also enjoyed trips across Europe and Hawaii. Ethel spent the last several years of her life in Haliburton at Highland Wood; enjoying the beauty of the area and continuing to be an inspiration to her family. Special thanks to Dr. Kristy Gammon and staff of both Highland Wood and Riverview Manor for their dedication and care. Ethel was a smart and talented woman with a broad range of impressive skills from book- keeping to dress-making, and decorating to house-hold repairs. She was a woman who was ahead of her times in many regards, with a stubborn adherence to her beliefs and inspiring strength and determination. Ethel was also kind hearted and fun-loving. She laughed easily and loved to give and receive big, genuine hugs. Ethel’s passion for life, determination and devotion was truly inspiring. Those who were fortunate to know Ethel well, have more joy, love and strength because of her. Cremation has taken place. A Remembrance Gathering will take place at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Friday, May 31 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Davidson Chapel followed by interment at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery. In sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or HHHS Foundation directed to Highland Wood, Haliburton, would be appreciated by the family.
