Eric Howard Winsor
1945-2019
WINSOR, Eric Howard – Age 73, Port Hawkesbury
passed away with family by his side on Thursday, May 23, 2019, in the
Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in North Sydney, he was a
son of the late Walter “Dick” and Marguerite (Camus)
Winsor.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eleanor
(MacGillivray); children, Darlene (Peter), Truro; Eric Jr. (Karen),
Port Hawkesbury; Rhonda (Adam), Tantallon; Brian (Samantha),
Fredericton; grandchildren, Riley, Maggie and Auston.
Eric was retired from Nova Scotia Power, where he was
employed for 31 years and for a period of time served as councillor
with the Town of Port Hawkesbury. Eric was well known for his love of
Christmas and the beautiful Christmas displays that brought joy to
young and old alike. He was a jack of all trades and could pretty much
accomplish anything he put his mind to, from wood working to
photography, although his greatest love was for his family and
especially his grandchildren.
Special thanks to the staff of the Renal Clinic and
especially Dr. Hewlett, as well as the nurses on Unit 4A of the Cape
Breton Regional Hospital.
Cremation has taken place. By request there will be no
visitation or funeral. A private burial will take place at a later
date. Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the
Canadian Diabetic Association. Words of comfort may be forwarded to
