Elinor Pearl COWEN March 7 1931 April 29 2019 (age 88)

Elinor passed away peacefully with family and dear friends at her bedside. Predeceased by her loving husband Stan, she is survived by daughter Leeanna (David), sons Dean (Jacque) and Mark (Michele), stepsons Mike (Hannah), Dave (Cathy), stepdaughter Kathy, 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Elinor and Stan were married in 1985, retired in 1988 and moved to French Creek in 1990 transferring to the Qualicum Legion in 1992. Elinor had a talent for sewing clothing children and grandchildren in beautiful creations never found on the rack. She used that talent after joining the Legion making tablecloths, aprons and more to keep the Branch 76 in a good supply of linens. Elinor was membership chair for 3 years and served with the Ladies Auxiliary for many more.
Elinor and Stan loved to travel and took many trips in their trusty tent trailer but in 1993 they purchased at 5th wheel trailer and spent many months a year over the next 12 years traveling across Canada, the US and Mexico engaging with local communities and fellow travelers.
Elinor was a vibrant member of the community who will be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at the Legion Branch 76 in Qualicum on May 4, 2019 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Legion to support their many charitable projects.
