Douglas Younger January 9 1932 November 17 2018

YOUNGER: George Douglas Younger passed away peacefully at his residence, Hillcrest Personal Care Home, on November 17, 2018 at the age of 86 years. Doug was born on January 9, 1932 in Goodlands, MB, and lived for many years in Rivers, MB, before moving to Brandon, where he lived at Hillcrest for the past six years. He is survived by his three children, Bob (Debbie), Gwenda (Rick), and Pat (Casey); as well as his 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sister Lois (Dave) Arnott, and his brother Marvin (Donna) Younger. Doug was a man of the land, and farming was his life. Over the years he was also involved with the Cardale Workshop, Clack Family Museum, and was a councillor for the RM of Daly to name a few. Death is only a journey from one state of being to another, and Doug was ready to join his beloved wife Ella and all those dear to him who had taken that journey before him. The family would like to thank all those who visited Doug in his diminishing years and to Hillcrest for the care given in his final years. To honour Doug’s wishes, a simple service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a private family interment at Ancrum Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
