Obituary of Dorothy Warden
Warden, Dorothy of Aylmer passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, May 19, 2019 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Clarence Edwin “Bud” Warden(1994). Dear mother of Eric Warden (Patty) of Peterborough and Kathryn Chambers of St. Thomas. Loving grandmother of Taylor Warden(Jen) and Graham Warden(Lindsay). Proud great-grandma to Kaiden. She will be missed by her sister Patricia McCreery(Bill) and nieces Nancy Pigram(Larry) and Linda Hunter. Predeceased by sisters Norma Grimsley(Ralph) and Marion Mower(Bud). Born in Es County on June 24, 1926, daughter of the late Glen and Florence McCreery. Dorothy graduated as a Registered Nurse from Victoria Hospital London in 1949 and was a Nurse at Imperial Tobacco for many years. She was a member of the Elgin County Graduate Nurses. Dorothy was a resident of Dingle Street, Aylmer and a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Church. She moved to Metcalfe Gardens four years ago. She was instrumental in establishing the Meals on Wheels program in Elgin County. In 2005, she was recognized by the Town of Aylmer for her volunteer work. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 11:00am.
