Lohnes, Donna Leslie
September 18, 1942 – May 14, 2019
Surrounded by the love of family and many friends, Donna passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital after a very brave battle with cancer. Survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Jim Lohnes. Loving mother of Peg Ralph (Mike) and Michael Lohnes (Judy). Much loved sister of Joan Conrad and Elizabeth Turpin. Treasured grandmother to Jason (Julie) Vallis, Matthew (Lisa) Vallis, Justin (Ali) Ralph, Courtney (Nick) Vandenakker, Adam (Amber) Lohnes and Caileigh-Anne Lohnes. Donna took great pride and received much joy from her 7 beautiful great grand-children. Also, fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. As a family, we would like to thank the 8th floor west staff especially the many doctors and nurses who show their true passion in caring for Donna who, being a nurse herself of years knew how tough their jobs could be. Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd, Ottawa (between Bayshore and Baseline Road) on Friday, May 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Ottawa Citadel, 1350 Walkley Rd, on Saturday, May 18th at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Interment will take place in Donna’s beloved home of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army Barrhaven Church Building Fund, the Booth Centre, the Humane Society or any hospital of your choice.
