Donald “Don” Arthur
1935-2019
Arthur, Donald Ray “Don” … Passed away peacefully,
with his family by his side at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on
Wednesday April 24, 2019 at the age of 83. Loving and devoted husband
of Philicia Arthur (nee McDonald), who together shared 56 years of
marriage. Cherished father of Michael Arthur. Beloved brother of
Kenneth and his wife Barb of Stratford. Brother-in-law of Wendy of
Stratford, Jeanne Harrington (Roy) of London and Alex McDonald (Diane)
of Stratford. Special uncle of Marryanne and David Hirschorn and many
nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Sam and Anna Arthur,
brothers Robert, Bill, Sam and George and sisters Vie Morrice and Kay
Shillalo. Don was employed with Union Gas for over 30 years. The
family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. Kirk Roth,
paramedics, the palliative and emergency staff of the Cambridge
Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. At Don’s
request, cremation has taken place. A private family service, with
interment at Avondale Cemetery, Stratford has already taken place.
The family also wishes to extend a special thank you to Father Irek
from St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church as well as the staff of Corbett
Funeral Home. As an expression of sympathy, donation made to the
Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care) or a charity
of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
