Donald Allan David Gingras born November 22, 1948 – May 6, 2019
With heavy hearts, we must announce the sudden death of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle, Donald Gingras, at the age of 70.
Donald will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Rosalee (Neilson); daughter Suella Price (James) and grandchildren Joseph, Jacob, Sterling of Courtenay, BC; daughter Claudia Dowedoff (Darrell) of Abbotsford, BC and grandchildren Melonie Gibson (Alex) great granddaughter, Makaila of Mission, BC; Michael Anderson of Abbotsford, BC, Jonathan Anderson of Abbotsford, BC; son Adonias Gingras (Ashley) and grandson Jaxson of Maple Ridge, BC.
Donald will also be missed by surviving siblings; Garry (Sharron) of Alder Flats, AB; Joyce (Rod) Klimp of Valleyview, AB; Janet (Mel) Israelson, of Lethbridge, AB; Calvin (Terry) of Leduc, AB, Clayton, of Penticton, BC; and numerous nephews, nieces, friends and coworkers.
Donald became a licensed Automotive Mechanic in the mid 70’s and continued in this line of work for most of his working life.
One could often catch Don’s singing, almost any time, on any day – most often songs of worship, but occasionally a fun tune or a Johnny Cash song. Don’s singing was a sign of his true contentment, his joy in his work, his family, his love.
Don’s generosity was never ending – especially with his family – his heart filled with joy every time he was able to help.
As son in law, James wrote; “Every once in a while, you will find a true gem. No one person can place a true value on it because the longer you are associated with this gem, the value continues to rise.
This is true in people, as well.
You meet a person that constantly puts themselves aside, putting others first. Stopping what they are doing, instantly, coming to your aid – even if it takes hours of driving and personal sacrifice. Standing up to do the right thing, even if it costs them ridicule. They will accept you for who you can become, and not what you are wearing, or what you look like
This is the type of gem one saw in Don Gingras. You could not put a value on his kindness or his generosity, or unconditional love. But his value continues to grow, as now, his is at the side of Jesus.
A true treasure in Heaven”.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Donald Allan David Gingras November 22 1948 May 6 2019 (age 70)..
