Retired DND, Veteran WW ll, landed on D Day, 4th Light Anti-Aircraft, Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 72 Pembroke.
At Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke on Wednesday May 29, 2019 at the age of 95 years. Delbert Mielke of Pembroke, son of the late Herbert and Mary (nee Burmaster) Mielke. Predeceased by his sisters Janet Pentabona, Viola Drebit (late Dave) and brother Melvin Mielke (late Theresa). Delbert will be missed by all his nieces and nephews. Delbert worked for Ontario Hydro, Frood Mines in Sudbury and Helen Mines in Wawa. He was a member of the Federation of Hunters and Anglers and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Friends are invited to share their memories of Delbert with his family during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. ( members of the RCL Br. #72 will meet at the Funeral Home Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.) A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday June 5 at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery followed by a luncheon in the Murphy Reception Suite.
