It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David John Perry on May 14, 2019, in his 60th year, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed by his loving sons Evan and Aaron, both of Ottawa. Loved brother of Sandra (James) Nethercott of Dorchester, Susan (Joe) Valdron of Oshawa and Robert Perry (Alisa Hanrahan) of Ottawa, and cherished uncle to Mike and Vicky Valdron of Oshawa. Fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins in England and Australia. Dave is predeceased by his father, John Perry (2011) and his mother, Sarah Perry (2018).
Dave was born in Walsall, England and emigrated to Canada with his family at the age of 17. He attended Seneca College in Toronto, earning his Engineering Technology Diploma in 1981 and later moved to Ottawa. Dave was proud of his profession as a Senior Mechanical Designer with Curtiss-Wright in Kanata, Ontario where he worked for over 20 years. He was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors, and a handy man who enjoyed working on his home projects. One of his fondest memories was his trip to Perth, Australia in 2013 to visit his Aussie relatives.
Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated by his family.
