Cyril’s Obituary
It is with sadness but gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce
the peaceful passing of Cyril Robbins, aged 93, at Western Memorial
Hospital in Corner Brook.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Betty Sheppard (Doug),
Gloria Bullock (Gary), Janice Evans (Karl Neilson); granddaughters Andrea
Vardy (Dave), Heather Bullock (Jose’); grandsons Douglas (Melanie), Matthew
(Melinda), Andrew (Carol). He will also be missed by his eleven great
grandchildren, special sister-in-law Mae Yates, as well as many nieces,
nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Naida (2001) nee Yates,
parents James and Lily Robbins, brothers Alfred, Arch, Harold, James,
George, and Chesley and sisters Marjorie, Anastasia, Pearl and Rita.
Cyril was born and lived in Lumsden where he was an active member of the
church and community, serving on various committees, boards and councils.
In 2001 he moved to Corner Brook, spending many enjoyable years at
Mountainview Retirement Center and the last few months at Long Term Care.
Family and friends may visit Kittiwake Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 22,
at 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Wesley United Church, Lumsden at 11 am on Thursday, May 23 with Rev. Larry Noseworthy officiating.Interment will follow at Wesley United Church Cemetery, Lumsden. As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to Wesley United Church,Lumsden or a charity of one’s choice.
