Caroline Raiwet
February 5, 1940 – April 26, 2019
Caroline (Bilsky) Raiwet of Canora, SK, beloved wife of the late Joseph Raiwet, passed away peacefully at the Canora Hospital on April 26, 2019, at the age of 79 years.
Caroline was born on February 5, 1940, to Frank and Pauline (Gulanski) Bilsky in Canora, SK. She was the first born of two children and was raised on the family farm. She attended Gravel Hill school until grade eight and then completed her high school education in Buchanan, SK. Upon graduation, she furthered her education by taking secretarial courses in Yorkton, SK. After completing her education, Caroline began working at various secretarial positions in Canora. It was there that Caroline met the love of her life, Joseph Raiwet, and the couple were united in marriage on December 20, 1980. In their spare time, they enjoyed travelling and working together in the garden. They spent their life together in Canora until Joseph’s passing on December 26, 2009.
At the latter part of her career, Caroline worked as an office assistant in an optometrist’s office in Canora, where she continued to work until her retirement.
Caroline took great pride in her horticultural work. She had a love of gardening and won several awards for the flowers, fruits and vegetables she grew every year. In her spare time, she enjoyed having coffee with friends, bowling, and taking photographs.
She was known for her love of family, kind heart and easygoing nature and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Caroline was predeceased by her father, Frank Bilsky; her husband, Joseph Raiwet; her father-in-law, John Raiwet and mother-in-law, Rita Raiwet.
She is survived by her mother, Pauline Bilsky of Lampman, SK; her brother, David (Yvonne) of Arran, SK; her nieces and nephews: Dalton Bilsky of Estevan, SK, Karla (James) Van der Schaaf of Lampman, SK, Desiree (Fateh) Bilsky of Ottawa, ON and Desmond (Sammie) Bilsky of Lampman, SK; and her great nephew, Quentin Van der Schaaf and great niece Olivia Bilsky both of Lampman, SK; as well as numerous extended family and friends. A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK, with Rev. Fr. Franklin
