Bertram “Bert”‘s Obituary
HUDGINS, Bertram Scott “Bert” ~ Age 60, of North Kingston, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2019, at home, with family by his side. Born on April 8, 1959, in Middleton, he was a son of the late Gilbert S. and Marjorie L. (Vidito) Hudgins. Bert is survived by his spouse for over 30 years, Katharine L. “Kathie” Evans; three sisters, Anna Mae (Richard Ross); Jane (Ron McKay) and Debbie (Danny Reid); many nieces and nephews. Bert enjoyed restoring antique vehicles. His garage became a warm meeting place for his friends and him. Bert loved his family and enjoyed caring for his “fur babies”. He will be especially missed by his cat, Annie. Over the last 40 years, Bert worked for Standard Paving, then R.B. Paving and finally Dexter Construction. He had said that he loved doing what he did and that he was good at it too! Kathie and the family would like to thank Dr. Lori Burgess, and the Palliative Care Team for all their sensitive guidance and care through a difficult time. Thanks must also be said to the helpful staff at Kingston Pharmasave. Thanks to Dean Greenough of Dexter Construction and his crew for their thoughtful and generous help. Thanks also to Barb Kennedy and to Kevin McKay for their considerable kind hearted support. Thank you to all who have made these last five painful months a little less challenging. All are welcome to attend a time in celebration of Bert’s life that will take place in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street, toll free 1-855-825-3448, on Friday, May 24, from 4-6 p.m., with reflections at 4 p.m. Mr. Jim Spurrell presiding, with interment in North Kingston Cemetery.
