FIELD, Alan Drummond
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Alan Drummond Field. He was born January 29, 1929 and recently passed peacefully with his family by his side and Louis Armstrong in his ears. Alan touched and influenced the lives of many with his kindness, generosity and never ending strength. He met his soul mate Marion Jean Clark while pitching a baseball game at the Port Sydney Community Hall many years ago. Alan will now join Marion, who has been patiently waiting for his company.
Alan leaves behind three daughters, Barbara, Susan (Bill) and Andrea (George). He was a loving grandfather to Lauren, Lindsay, Alexa, Elizabeth, Andrea, Sarah, Katie (Quintin) and Jessica. He was also a wonderful great grandfather to Jason.
Alan had a close knit group of friends throughout his life and he always looked forward to their annual fishing trip adventures. On these adventures, pranks were a common occurrence. It was not unusual for him to take a quick nap and wake up thinking he had a fish on the end of his line only to find a pop bottle placed there by a friend while he slept. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed sharing this passion with his family and friends.
We all love you pops and you will be greatly missed, but your memory will always live on. A heartfelt thank you goes to the staff of Fairvern. No words can express the appreciation that we feel for the love and care that you have provided.
We will be best friends until we are old and senile, then we will be new friends.
