FETTES, Robert “Bob” Douglas – 77 of Greenwood passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 04, 2019 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Toronto, Ontario on June 15, 1941, he was a son of the late Douglas Irwin and Goldie Eileen (Bowens) Fettes. Bob joined the RCAF in 1958 and served as an aviation technician in St. Hubert, Baden and Soellingen, Germany, Bagotville, Borden and Greenwood, retiring in 1993 as Chief Warrant Officer. He was awarded the Order of Military Merit in 1991. In retirement, Bob volunteered as a firefighter for the Kingston District Volunteer Fire Department, Kingston Lions Club, Kingston Village Commission (serving as Chair), Community Health Board and the Greenwood Aviation Museum. He was also a past member of the Greenwood and Paragon Golf Clubs. He is survived by his companion Aliette Joli, his son Alexander (Connie), grandsons Ethan and William, brother Stewart (Sue) and nephew Scott. Bob was predeceased by his wife of 39 years, Eileen (MacDonald) Fettes. By request, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 at the Kingston Lions Club, 1482 Veteran’s Lane, followed by a reception. Private interment will take place in the North Kingston Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Kingston Lions Club or the Kingston Volunteer Fire Department.
