Obituary of Brian Scott Saul
Peacefully, on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa, at age 73.
Brian Saul, loved father of Alexandra Jane (James) of Toronto and Daniel Scott (Allison) of Whitby. Loving grandfather of Mackenzie William and Benjamin Scott of Whitby. Dear brother of Alan Lindsay of Brampton. He is dearly loved by his close friends Irene Marre, Ron and Marion Willoughby, Marie Cole, Teri and Brian McKenzie, and countless others that he touched in his life.
Brian was born in Sale, England to Edna Smith and Thomas Scott Saul on May 11, 1945. After graduating from the University of Manchester, Brian immigrated to Canada in 1976 and secured his position in the Ontario Association of Architects in 1983. Brian worked for years with a number of engineering firms as the head architect and lived in both Toronto and Oshawa. Brian was the lead designer for a number of prominent buildings, including the Port Perry Municipal Office, the Ajax Recreation Centre, the INVISTA Centre in Kingston, as well as numerous health care clinics and other municipal buildings in the greater Durham Region. Brian was an avid painter, photographer, and calligraphist, who loved to create and share his works with those he loved. He loved music, theatre, art galleries and museums and was a patron of all arts.
In accordance with Brian’s wishes there will be no funeral service held. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wagg Funeral Home in Port Perry. If desired, friends and loved ones are asked to make a memorial donation by cheque to the Palliative Care unit at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his honor, for the care and compassion their staff hold when helping patients and their loved ones at a most difficult time. “One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain.” – Bob Marley.
