Jeanette Diana Rosemary Jenkins died peacefully at home in Vancouver on April 28, 2019.
Born in Walgett, NSW, Australia, Diana traveled the world as a physiotherapist before taking up practice at Vancouver General Hospital.
She met the love of her life and started a family with Dr. Leonard C. Jenkins and became a life-long member of the Southlands community.
Diana was predeceased by her loving husband Len, her parents, and five siblings. She is survived by daughter Margaret, son Michael (Camilla), and her grandchildren, Samantha and Cecil.
Diana will be fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear family and friends across Canada, Australia, Denmark, and the U.S.
Diana was a country woman at heart. An avid horsewoman, dressage-enthusiast, and dedicated member of the Southlands Riding Club. She rode and trained a succession of horses she adored including Paylo, Johnny, and Bailey. She shared this life-long passion with her children and grandchildren. Diana loved all animals, especially her dogs, birds, cows, and the occasional cat, leaving behind her precious dog Doogie and bird Petey.
At Diana’s request, no funeral services will be held; rather, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made in Diana’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, BC Cancer Foundation, BC SPCA, Union Gospel Mission, or The Food Bank.
In honour and memory of Diana and Dr. Leonard C. Jenkins, a bursary for anesthesiology students will be established at the University of British Columbia.
Diana will be sadly missed and never forgotten.
