Rosinke, Waltraud “Oma”:
Passed away on Monday, April 15th, 2019 at peopleCare AR Goudie in her 105th year. Loving Mother to Rosemarie (Jack) Kuehn and Benno (Sharon Hamilton). Cherished Oma to William Kuehn (Tabitha), Angela Martin (Darrel), Ann Moser (Dave), Ian Rosinke (Linda), Sharyn Rosinke (Tyler), Tyler Priamo and Travis Priamo and great Oma to 9. Lovingly remembered by her son-in-law, Joe Priamo, her sister, Lily as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada and Germany. Predeceased by her husband, Benno (1957), her daughter, Barbara Priamo (2019), her brother and sisters.
Born in West Prussia in 1914, Waltraud “Oma” survived two world wars. After the devastation of WWII, she came to Canada in 1952 to make a new life. A further set back happened 5 years later when her husband died, however, she was able to overcome this problem by learning English to work a job. She was also very active with the German Women’s Group associated with St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kitchener for many years.
Oma’s family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 am – 10:45 am on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Liturgy will be held in the chapel at 11:00 am followed by a reception at the funeral home. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
