Valmont Joseph Gibbs,86, of Nelson-Miramichi, N.B. passed away on Saturday April 20, 2019 at the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home.
Born in Baie Sainte-Anne the son of the late Raymond & Linda (Martin) Gibbs.
Valmont worked for the Department of Transportation as a mechanic until his retirement.
He is survived by daughters; Susan Earle (Kevin) of Quispamsis, Colleen Shaw (Gary) of Quispamsis, Karen O’Hearn (Michael) of Moncton, sons: Gary Gibbs (Carolyn) of Riverview, Brian Gibbs (Helen) of Miramichi, Kevin Gibbs (Janet) of Miramichi, Grandchildren: Matthew, Jeffery, Mark, Michael, Jamie, Andrew, Scottie, Gregory, Emily, Laura. Great-Grandchildren: Aydan, Tanner, Ben, Charles, Hunter, Jettson, Henry.
He is also survived by his sisters: Leola (Albert Manuel), Raymonde Gibbs, and brother: Ralph Gibbs (Late Alice) and several nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the 4th floor staff at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home was their wonderful care.
Valmont Gibbs is resting at Maher’s Funeral Home Miramichi, N.B., on Monday April 22, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Nelson Miramichi, NB, with Father John Keoughan officiating.
As an expression of sympathy, a donation may be made to the charity of the donors Choice would be appreciated.
