Travis was raised on the Thunderchild First Nation and spent many years with his grandparents, James and Bernice. He called them “mom” and “dad” and was very fond of them. He took every opportunity to visit with them and often called them just to stay connected. Travis was a true outdoorsman and was a skilled hunter and fisherman. He knew guns and spent many hours cleaning and working on his guns. He could often be found hunting using a quad or skidoo and many times riding just for pure fun. If he wasn’t out hunting, Travis was forever tinkering away on some vehicle, quad or skidoo. He loved listening to music as he worked and enjoyed joking around and reminiscing with whoever was around.
Travis loved his partner, Char, and all his children. It wasn’t unusual to find him in the kitchen cooking up a storm for his family and friends. He loved his stepfather, Bruce, and was constantly checking on him and making sure he was eating properly. Bruce provided a sense of stability for Travis after the loss of his mother, Clara.
Travis loved having his family at home with him and would often try to keep his sister, Tiera, from leaving once she arrived for a visit. He relied on Tiera for support and she was another set of ears during difficult times. Travis was quite lonely in recent months and was having a hard time dealing with recent family losses. He was very loved by family and friends and will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
