Thomas George Broughton 2019

Obituary for
Thomas George Broughton
Suddenly but peacefully at his home in Haileybury on Monday, April 8, 2019, Thomas George Broughton passed away at the age of 68. Fondly remembered by his children Khristina (Oppie) Robinson, Heather (Steve) Taylor, Ryan (Kayla) Broughton and their mother Carmen Broughton. Loving grandfather of Alicia, Mackenzie, Brian, Paige, Isabelle, McKenna, Evelyn and Nathan. Beloved brother of Wendy (Bob) Wright, Archie (Sandy) Broughton, David (Charlotte) Broughton and Kenneth (Lina) ton. Son of the late Charles Broughton and Dorothy (Briggs) ton.
Tom worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Boart Longyear for 40 years. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He would look forward every year for his camping trip to Poplar Point camp with the Robinson’s where he enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren (and they enjoyed stealing his fishing tackle).
Spring was also a time that he had a table full of plants started for his garden that he would diligently tend to all summer. You never knew what strange vegetable he was going to grow next.
He will certainly be missed by all who knew him – especially his grandchildren that he would spoil with frozen treats or candy. His children will miss his expertise with his mechanics and gardening.
Cremation has taken place at Lakeview Crematorium, Haileybury. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held later in June. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Temiskaming hospital’s auxiliary. Online condolences accepted at www.buffamleveille.com
