1933-2019
Sylvia Joan Damsell passed away on April 27, 2019 at Kenneth
E. Spencer Memorial Home. Born in Es, England 1933, she was the
daughter of the Joseph and Kathleen Yetman. She attended Ilford County
High School for Girls and was evacuated to various locations in
England during World War ll.
She married Dennis H. Damsell in 1953. In 1962, Sylvia and
Dennis immigrated to Canada with their two daughters. Prior to coming
to Canada, she taught school in England, subsequently, teaching at
various schools in Moncton.
She is survived by her loving husband, Dennis of 66 years,
two daughters Alison (William) and Elaine (John), seven grandchildren:
Katelynd, Gillyan, Emily, Clara, Peter, Mitchell. Evelyn and her
great-grandchild.
Sylvia was a member of St. John the Baptist Anglican Church
in Riverview and was an active member of the Senior’s Club
at P.P.T. Moncton.
Sylvia will be sadly missed by her husband, family and
friends.
Arrangements entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007. A memorial
service for family and close friends will take place on Wednesday, May
1, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, 28 Woolridge Dr.,
Riverview at 11:00am with The Venerable Brent W. Ham officiating.
Donations made to Friends of The Moncton Hospital would be greatly
appreciated by the family.
