Stuart Walters
1926-2019
Alan Stuart Walters, age 93, of MacLellan’s Brook,
passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019, in the Glen Haven Manor, New
Glasgow. Born in Picton, Ontario, he was a son of the late Case and
Helen (Denike) Walters. He served with the Canadian Army for 2 1/2
years during WWII. He then worked for Canada Post in Picton, Ont.,
after which he then joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he
served for 22 1/2 years until his retirement. After retirement, he was
employed with Sumner Co. in New Glasgow. He was a member of Sharon
Saint John United Church; a member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 28
Stellarton; and life member of the Royal Canadian Air Force Club,
Stellarton. He was a former member of the Stellar Curling Club in
Stellarton. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Hamilton); nieces:
Margaret (Gerry) McCornock, Oxford Mills, ON; Mary Jane Starr and
family, Ottawa, ON; Jean McCornock, Picton, ON; Janet Walters, Picton,
ON; Sheila Walters and family, Ottawa, ON; Belinda (Glen) Machon and
family, Murray Harbour, PEI; nephews: Douglas (Lutske) Walters and
family, Burlington, ON; Bruce (Clover) Walters, Toronto, ON; Dennis
Richards, Demorestville, ON; Edison (Sharon) Hamilton and family,
Fredericton, NB; Sullivan (Carol) Hamilton, Fredericton, NB;
sister-in-law: Colleen Hamilton, Fredericton, NB. He was predeceased
by a sister, Ruth (Arthur) McCornock; brothers: Donald (Audra); Rex
(Mary); Bruce (Chris); niece: Katherine Richards; brother-in-law:
Parker Edison Hamilton. No visitation by request. Funeral services
will be held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to a
charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the R.H.
Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
