Sheila Josephine Vincent 2019

Sheila Josephine Vincent
March 20, 1938 – April 05, 2019

Mothers are the beings— I think we miss the most profoundly in our lives. If they live to be a thousand— it’s simply not long enough. Jann Arden
It is with sad sad broken hearts we say good bye to our precious mom, Sheila Josephine Vincent, (Merner) who turned 81 on the 20th of March. Mom died Friday, April 5, 2019, surrounded by her loving family, Barbara and Fred O’Keefe, Rick and Connie Vincent, Deb and Ken Roberts, Cindy Vincent, (Pierce Head), her sweet baby boy Michael Vincent. Also her adopted son Michael Connors (Glynis and children)
Waiting for her were husband, Richard Clarence Vincent, parents Denis and Margaret Merner (Kane), her mother and father in law Chesley and Rose Vincent (Stone), sister Kay and Robert Hickey, brother Patrick and Ann Merner, brother Frank and Mary Merner, mom’s brothers in law and sisters in law: Leonard and Evelyn Miller, George and Jean Vincent, Chesley and Jean Vincent, Robert O’Neill, and all her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Our mom will be sadly missed by her sister Margaret and husband Jim Brewer, her sister in law Carmel O’Neill, and her sister in law Shirley Merner, her grandchildren Marcus Stevens (Courtney Boechler) Leah (Kevin Smith) Ashley and John Duff, Stephanie Roberts (Greg Baker) Kayla Duff (Curtis Pender) her great grand children Hailey Carey, Alexandra, Ashton, and Aadin Whelan, Ryder and Gracie Smith, Logan Duff, Parker Pender, Theo and Scarlett Stevens and her new great great grandchild Emmanuel Carey. Mom was also a wonderful aunt and will be missed by her loving nieces and nephews who loved her like a mom.
During the past several months many friends and neighbours of Mom and her children came to feed us, help us, offer a shoulder for crying, a story for laughing, or a hug for healing. For their love and concern thank you.
For all the medical treatment and help we received because of mom’s terrible disease we thank you; especially the pharmacists at Shoppers Drug Mart LeMarchant Rd, Jennifer Carroll of Community Health, the Palliative Care team, Dr. Popaduik, and our wonderful family physician and her office, Dr. Elizabeth Callahan.
Mom missed her St. Patrick’s Parish immensely, but her Parish never let her down. Mom was the sacristan at the Parish for many years serving the late Monsignor Doody, then Fr.Wayne Dohey, and Fr. Pat Power. The Parishioners were there for her with their prayers, love, flowers, and food. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts especially Fr. Pat Power and Fr. Wayne Dohey
There are really no words to describe how you watch a beautiful mother fade before your eyes in a matter of months. However, we had support from our loving family, friends, and neighbours and that will help us through this part of life’s journey. We will be able to heal as we look back on the help and love we received. You know who you are, so thank you.
Mom is waking at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd on Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Flowers greatly accepted or Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society NL chapter and The Gathering Place.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Sheila Josephine Vincent 2019..
