1929-2019
Ruth P. (Thornton) Blaney of Maple Ridge, NB passed away on April 7,
2019 at Carleton Manor. Ruth was born at Waterville, York Co., NB in
1929, a daughter of the late Hazen and Pearl (Barrow) Thornton.
Ruth believed in God and was an active member of the Millville Baptist
Church until she moved to Carleton Manor, Woodstock. She loved her
family and enjoyed working with the youth at her church. Ruth enjoyed
cooking, quilting, growing flowers and picking berries.
She leaves behind her children, Theresa Blaney, Maple Ridge, NB,
Audrey Reid (Clifton), Millville, NB and Kevin Blaney, Maple Ridge,
NB; five grandchildren, Chris (Bonnie), Sebastian (Crystal), Michelle
(John), Alex and Brooke; a great granddaughter, Kabrayrah-Rose; a
sister-in-law, Joanne Blaney; a special cousin and friend, Kathleen
Wallace; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband,
Gerald Blaney in 2018; an infant son, Dale Gilbert; her siblings, Alma
Schriver (late Angus) and Arnold Thornton (late Joyce); several
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law in the Blaney family.
Visiting hours will be held at Millville Baptist Church, 1469 Route
605, Millville, NB on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 12 to 2 pm,
followed by the funeral service with Rev. Dean Annis officiating. A
reception will follow at the church. Interment will be at a later
date at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Ruth, the family
has suggested the Maple Ridge Cemetery.
