It is with great sadness that the Esford family announces the peaceful passing of Ron Esford at Rideaucrest on Friday, April 19, 2019. Predeceased by his parents Mildred (Harpell) and Thomas Esford, Sister Dolores Thorne, youngest daughter Colleen, son Martin (Marty), wife Adrienne and special friend Eve Reid of Colorado. Ron is survived by his sons Ron Jr. (Marsha), Gordie, Danny, Michael (Barb), Marty’s wife Patty and daughter Kelly (Michael Shaw), grandchildren Brandon, Taylor, Amanda and great granddaughter Isabella Braczek. Ron will be missed by his siblings Carole (Johnston), Sandra, George (Janet), Sharon and Randy (Cindy) as well as many nieces and nephews. Ron was the All-Star Running Back of the 1952 KCVI Eastern Secondary Champion Football team as well as the Eastern Ontario Tennis champion in his younger days. Ron retired from the Kingston Public Utilities after 40 years of service remaining physically active enjoying sports and winters in Florida. The family would like to thank the staff at Rideaucrest both in Garden Walk Terrace and River View Terrace for their compassion and care during Ron’s last few years. At Ron’s request, cremation has occurred. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later day. As an expression of sympathy donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or charity of your choice is appreciated.
