Robert “Bob” Murphy
1942 – 2019
It is with great sadness the Murphy family announces the passing of Robert “Bob” Murphy, which occurred on Sunday, April 28th, 2019.
Bob was born in 1942 in Campbellton, NB, he was the son of the late Owen and Amy (Pond) Murphy.
Bob worked for ICI Chemicals and enjoyed his retirement for over the past ten years.
Bob spent his childhood in Newcastle, his adulthood in Dalhousie and recently returned to the Miramichi.
Bob enjoyed all sports and cherished his time on the golf course with the boys.
He will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his sincere kindness and being a gentleman.
Bob is survived by his wife Carmel (Hachey) Murphy, his son David (Misty) Murphy, his daughter Lori (Eric) Arseneault, and his grandchildren Cobyn Murphy and Sydney Arseneault, his niece Beverly (Johns) Wilibinisky, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Margaret-Anne (Murphy) Johns, and his grandson Liam Murphy.
At the family’s request, there will be no visitation.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Newcastle on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019, at 2 PM with Father Antonio Reyes officiating.
As expressions of sympathy, in Bob’s memory, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
