Peter Wile 19552019

Peter Wile
1955-2019
Peter was born in Bridgewater on May 19, 1955. He lived his
entire life in Wileville with deep roots connecting him to the farm
and the land that he loved so deeply.
He graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in
1975 and returned to work with his father, Bernie and Uncle Dawson.
Over the years there were many transitions as the farm changed
ownership. Peter ran the dairy farm until 2008, when he left dairy
farming to work fulltime at Wile’s Lake Farm Market. At the Market, he became
the go-to person to fix anything and everything to allow the business
to run smoothly.
Peter was passionate about snowmobiling. He enjoyed many
trips with his longtime friend, Jerry Inman in Northern New Brunswick
and Quebec. Peter had a wide circle of snowmobile buddies who were
happy to talk about sleds, snow conditions and their last
trip.
Peter was active in the farm community and as a community
volunteer. He served as a director with the Nova Scotia Federation of
Agriculture, as current president of Farmers Cooperative Dairy and as
a member of the South Shore Exhibition. Peter was also an active
volunteer with the Bridgewater Inter Church Food Bank for many
years.
Peter is survived by his life and business partner Elspeth
(McLean-Wile), his sisters Jocelyn (Wile-Zwicker) and Jackie, Rose
Marie (Blais) and Charles; brothers and sisters-in-law Neil Mclean and
Karen, Malcolm McLean and Nancy; nieces and nephews, Laura (Mounce)
and Evan, baby Elliot, Maren (McLean-Persaud) and Christian, Peter
McLean and Emily Franklin, Eric McLean, Hannah McLean, Dominique Blais
and Adam Slauenwhite, and Brenden Wile; mother-in-law Ellen McLean;
aunts Doris (Wile) and Miriam (Wile) and Uncle Phillip Dauphinee; and
many cousins; and special neighbours Connie (Dauphinee) and Mitch Bird
and their children Maggie and Philip.
Peter appreciated the outpouring of love and support from
family, friends and staff during his illness. Special recognition to
the compassionate team of emergency doctors and palliative care
professionals who cared for him. He felt truly blessed to experience
their kindness.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of R.A. Corkum
Funeral Home, Wileville. The funeral will be Sunday, April 7 at 2 pm
in the Bridgewater Baptist Church with a reception to follow in the
church hall. A private interment will follow at a later date. In lieu
