Peter Boyadjian
8 juillet 1925 –
12 avril 2019
Peter Ara Boyadjian of Burlington, born July 8, 1925 in Jerusalem Palestine, passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital April 12, 2019. Survived by his children Kate (Mike) Lockwood, Joe (Cathy) Boyadjian, and daughter-in-law Chris Boyadjian. Much loved Grandad of 10 and great grandfather of 6 and counting. Predeceased by his wife of 57 years Susan (2014) and son Nicholas (2011).
Peter came to Canada in 1956, settling in London Ont, and created a happy life for his Canadian born family. He acclimated to his new home so well that he and his wife became Canadian citizens themselves, but he never missed the Queens address on Christmas day. Peter and his family moved to Burlington in 1973, where he discovered the joy of sailing on the Great Lakes. Peter loved sailing and mucking about in boats, a pastime that began on the Nile as a boy and continued throughout his life. A proper English gentleman right down to his ascot, with a mischievous side. He was a keen traveller and explorer highlighted by the Newfoundland flotilla, a one year post retirement sojourn down the intercostal waterway, and many summers sailing and exploring the north channel. There were numerous European adventures with extended family, making sure that familial connections remained strong. He was a proud patriarch of his immediate and extended family and will be greatly missed by all.
The family wishes to welcome everyone to Bay Gardens Funeral Home – 1010 Botanical Drive, Burlington (905) 527-0405 on Thursday April 18, 2019 at 11 am.
Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in lieu of flowers.
