Saint-Anicet resident passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 Mr. Orrick Thurston aged 73 years. Married to Sharon Thurston, fifty-one years anniversary (April 5, 1968). After his heart attack on March 16, Orrick spent two week hospital in Montreal Jewish General hospital intensive care. He had surgery and wasn’t strong enough to come back to us. Passing quietly. He was a farmer returning from many years in BC to family heritage farms on the Irish Ridge in 1974 with his wife and three daughters. He loved the land and his woods. He is survived by his wife Sharon, daughters Sheila of Guelph, Ontario, Stacey (Greg Darragh) and Shannon (Kevin Staveley), his grandchildren Robert Woodcock, Nikki Woodcock (Ricky Sage), Zachary Macfarlane (Ashley Pinkerton and great grandson Koen Macfarlane), Kierstan Macfarlane (Brandon Martell), William Geldart, Kaitlyn Stavely (Keith Matson), Lilyanne Staveley (Jeremy Belfleur), his brothers and sisters Florence, Irene (Owens), Lyman (Donna), Ann (Martin), Glenn (Madonna) and Donald (Lynn). Predeceased by his brothers and sisters Francis (late Patricia), Jeannette (Fred), Bernadette (Merle), Edmund (Carol) and Katharyn (late Gordon). Visitations will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 9 am to 12 pm, at Rodrigue Montpetit & Fils Funeral Home, 170 Châteauguay St., Huntingdon. Burial at St-Anicet Cemetery at a later date.
