On April 1, 2019 Mrs. Nora Lamoureux of Fort Saskatchewan passed away peacefully at the age of 99 years.
Nora resided in the Fort Saskatchewan area her entire life living most of it on her beloved farm in Lamoureux across the river from the Fort. She will be sadly missed and forever remembered by her surviving children, Gloria (Art) Davies, Margaret (Fred) Naundorf, Jim (Bonnie) Lamoureux; her seven grandchildren, Shawn (Todd), Dawn (Randy), Scott (Trish), Grant (Nhung), Paul (Donna), Drew and Taylor; eleven great grandchildren, Tyler (Leah), Ryan (Nicole), Travis, Raelyn (Alex), Sara (Brayden), MaryAnne, Nelson (Julia), Joshua, Kenya, Monet, Sage; four great-great grandchildren, Brody, Dyson, Carter, Taralynn; her brother, Donald Fleming as well as numerous extended family.
Nora was predeceased by her loving husband, Herve’; sisters, Agnes Fleming, Alice Larson, Geraldine Wenzel and parents James and Irene Fleming.
Nora loved being on the farm with her cows, dogs and cats. She was always so glad to have family around especially on holidays. She was known for her wonderful angel food cakes, which she made for birthdays. When Nora moved to the Fort she loved picking up the grandchildren from school and having them visit for a while. Nora’s hobbies were history and photography, she volunteered at the Heritage Society and was known to be able to answer anyone’s questions about the Fort and surrounding area. Her knowledge about family history and area will be missed.
Respecting Nora’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will take place at a future date. Nora’s final resting place will be in the Lamoureux Cemetery.
For those who so desire, memorial donations in Nora’s honour may be made to the Alberta SPCA or the Fort Saskatchewan Historical Society. Each of these organizations were dear to Nora. Condolences may be sent to www.serenity.ca
