Obituary of Morley J. Brown
BROWN, Morley J. – Formerly of R.R.#4, St. Thomas, passed away peacefully at Meadow Park Long Term Care, London on Sunday, April 14, 2019, in his 97th year. Beloved husband for 65 years to the late Jean (née Flintoft) Brown (2010). Dearly loved father of Dianne Craig (Godwin), Jacqueline Sharpe (Allan), all of St. Thomas, Raymond Brown (Sandra) of R.R.#4, St. Thomas, and James Brown (Barbara) of London. Cherished grandfather of Lisa Craig, Steven Craig (Jennifer), Kolton Brown, all of St. Thomas, and Vicki Wilcox of London . Proud great grandfather of Carter Craig. Also fondly remembered by several in-laws, and many nieces and nephews and their families. Morley was predeceased by his siblings, Margaret Dann, Stewart J. Brown, Clarence Brown, and Roy Brown. Born in Southwold Twp., ON, January 14, 1923, he was the eldest son of the late George and Thirza (née McCloy) Brown. He was the former owner/operator of Morley Brown TV Aerial Sales & Service, and also farmed his apple orchard. Morley was a Past Master and life member of St. David’s Lodge #302, A.F. & A.M., and a Past Master of Talbot Lodge #546, A.F. & A.M., St. Thomas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating for a number of years. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received by the family at the SIFTON FUNERAL HOME, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519) 631-1160 on Wednesday, April 24th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A public memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, April 25th at 10:30 a.m., followed by the interment of Morley’s cremated remains in Union Cemetery. Memorial donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children will be gratefully acknowledged.
