Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Ivimey
1936-2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Mary E. (Betty) Ivimey of
Zealand, NB announce her peaceful passing on April 9, 2019 at the Dr.
Everett Chalmers Hospital. Betty was born on July 8, 1936 in Saint
John’s, NL, the daughter of the late Virtue (Sullivan) and John
Ivimey.
In her earlier years, Betty loved to hunt and fish, bagging a moose,
many deer and salmon. She loved grooming poodles, playing bingo,
tending her flower garden and spending mornings with friends having
coffee.
Betty is survived by her sister, Edith (Estey) Hardy, Zealand, NB; two
nieces, Elizabeth Bird (Michael), Burtts Corner, NB and Amy Hardy
(Trevor Johnston), Nova Scotia; two great nephews, Zayne Hardy (Robyn)
and Matheson Bird; a great niece, Delaney Bird; two great great
nieces, Aviana and Kaisley Bird; and also by her fur baby Zoe who has
a new home with her sister and who greatly misses her mommy.
She was predeceased by her father, John Ivimey; her mother and
step-father, Virtue and Percy Estey and by her brother-in-law, David
Hardy.
A funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church,
1407 Route 104, Zealand, NB on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 2 pm with
The Venerable John Sharpe officiating. Interment will be at a later
date at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican
Cemetery or Anglican Parish of Bright designated for St. Paul’s
Good Will Fund, would be appreciated by the family.
