Obituary of Martha Irene Atkinson
Martha Irene Atkinson (nee Chapple), 78, of Burlington, Ontario passed away peacefully on April 25th, 2019 with her family by her side at Toronto General Hospital.
She was born to the late Irene Chapple (nee Maratto) and Hugh Edward Chapple Sr. on January 13, 1941 in Hamilton, Ontario. Martha married the late Melvin John Atkinson in 1960. They lived together with their family in Burlington, Ontario. Martha will be sadly missed by her sons Steven Atkinson and Richard Atkinson and her daughter Patricia Dickson (nee Atkinson) and David Dickson. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Katherine Dickson, Jessica Murray and one great grandchild, Gabriella Materno. Martha is also survived by her brothers Bill Chapple, Edward Chapple, Hugh Chapple and George Chapple. Predeceased by sister Marie Sheridan (nee Chapple).
Martha was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. She leaves behind nothing but beautiful, fond memories for her children and grandchildren. Martha had a wonderful sense of humour and loved life. Many hours were spent in her gardens. She will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her.
