Marie Nash
On April 18, 2019, Marie Nash (nee Koziak) joined her husband Frederick; son, Frederick Jr.; daughter, Linda; babies, Christopher and Theresa; parents, Paul and Pearl; sister, Emily; and brother, Peter in Heaven. She was 98 and a half years old. Marie leaves to mourn her children, Dennis (Issy), Esther (Duncan) Craig, Lydia (Todd), Donna (Gary), Mary (Rick), and Jerry (Johanna); nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Marie was a dedicated mother and wife. She was a strong, compassionate, devoted Catholic. She volunteered in the church and community for over 70 years in various capacities. Her passion projects were working with underprivileged and creating strong community. She worked mainly in pastoral care in her later life. She developed prayer groups in senior residences and assisted in the development of church and school in the Beverly area. She served on the board of Government House and held presidency for CWL at St. Paul Roman Catholic Parish for many years. She was involved with Fred speaking in schools with the Memory Project. Her last speaking engagement was before 700 students at age of 90 years. Marie was a doer and would lend a hand to her neighbours and community any time. She was a faithful servant of God, and lived her life with devotion to her fellowman with love.
The family extends sincere thanks to Kipnes Centre for Veterans for their support and care. Funeral Mass Thursday April 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Resurrection Roman Catholic Church, 10555-50A Street, Edmonton with interment to follow. Donations can be made to Catholic Social Services Sign of Hope in lieu of flowers.
