Obituary of Margaret Josephine Santo
On Friday, April 26, 2019 Margaret Josephine Santo passed suddenly at age 84 after a long battle with numerous illnesses. She was residing at the Cupar and District Home since 2007. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her husband Joe; Children: Gerald (Debra) grandson Chris and two great grandchildren Mason and Blake; Allan (Angela) and granddaughter Tia; Arnold, grandson Matthew, Bradley Isbister; Ronald (Mary Anna), two grandchildren Micheal and great granddaughter Chelsey, Jennifer Blundell (Chad), two great grandchildren Chase, April; Luella Mainland (Darren) and two grandchildren Joshua, Angela; two brothers Frank and Albert; four sisters Mary, Edna, Julia and Betty. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Szeles and brother George. Margaret was born at the Cupar Hospital on December 29, 1934. She was the third child of eight born in the Szeles family. Margaret attended Little Touchwood School almost completing her grade eight education. Following her schooling she worked at the Cupar Hotel cleaning for about a year, then moved to Regina to work at Kresgies. On August 30, 1954 Margaret married Joe Santo from Dysart and they moved to the farm north of Dysart where they farmed together, Margaret milking cows, raising chickens and a wonderful garden. Margaret and Joe had five children, Gerald, Allan, Arnie, Ron and Luella. Margaret enjoyed her life on the farm. She loved baking, cleaning and gardening. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at St. Patrick RC Church, Cupar, SK with Fr. Prince Kurisinkal as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Cupar and District Nursing Home.
