Marco Adriano Alessio
Marco Adriano Alessio passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 7, 2019, in his home in Grande Prairie, AB; at the age of 78 years.
Marco was born May 22, 1940 in Matterada-Istria Italy. His family immigrated to Canada when Marco was 20 years old, in 1960. After a year long stay in Tilbury, ON, Marco’s family moved to Grande Prairie, AB to join his older brother and sister who had moved there in 1957. During this time in Grande Prairie, Marco and Sharon met and became acquainted. Marco’s family then returned to Ontario to Guelph where Marco and his first wife Ria and were married in 1965. They had two sons, Mark and Michael. Marco and Ria separated and Marco moved to Grande Prairie in 1985. Marco and Sharon reconnected soon after and were married in 1987. Marco and Sharon remained married until his passing.
He leaves behind his wife Sharon; son Michael (Laura); step-son Alex Zahara; step-daughter Margo Zahara; grandchildren: Josh, Emily and Luke; great-grandchildren: Joshua and Emma; and brothers and sisters: Sergio, Georgina, Elma, Bruno and Carmela.
He was predeceased by his son Mark in 2009, and parents Catarina and Stefano.
Please join us in celebrating his life, Saturday, April 13, 2019, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
