Magdalene Kadar
1931-2019
Kadar, Magdalene (nee Szentimrey) … Passed away peacefully at
the Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Sunday April 21st, 2019 at the age
of 87. Magdalene was born May 27, 1931, in Baranince (Baranya,
Transcarpathian region, Ukraine), one of 5 children, that emigrated to
Canada October 1, 1938, settling on a farm in Branchton, Ontario.
Magdalene powered through challenges throughout her life and emerged
with poise and grace. She was an accomplished entrepreneur with her
late husband John of 60 years, 2013, and a loving mother to six
children, sixteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Together,
they started an international manufacturing company, 3-L Filters Ltd.,
in Cambridge Ontario, which currently remains a global operation
today.
Cherished mother of Livia Dykstra (Mel), Linda Bailey, Loretta
Stelliga, Victor Kadar, Valerie Freeland (Kevin), and Vincent Kadar
(Carrie). Special grandmother of Lena (Ryan), Tanya, Philip, Sarah,
Lisa (Matt), Carrie-Ann, Kyle, Desmond, Nathan, Chantel, Alysha,
Tommy, Rachel, Nicole, Abbigale and Mackenzie, and ecstatic
great-grandmother to Sophie (Lena).
Predeceased by her parents Margaret (nee Petrik) and Andrew Szentimrey
as well as her siblings Ava Takacs and Agnes Beemer. Magdalene will
be sadly missed by her two brothers Joseph Szentimrey, and Paul
Szentimrey (Ariel) as well as many nieces and nephews, and extended
family and friends. Magdalene treasured the new friendships she made
at Chartwell Queens Square Retirement residence and appreciated all
the staff and management at the retirement residence. Magdalene
touched many hearts and will be missed by all that knew her.
Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge, where
family and friends will be received on Thursday May 23, 2019 from
7-9p.m. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman
Catholic Church, South St., Cambridge, on Friday May 24, 2019 at
1p.m
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart &
Stroke Foundation of Canada and Epilepsy Canada. The family wishes to
express a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the
Cambridge Memorial Hospital and staff at Chartwell Queens Square
Retirement residence.
