It is with great sadness that the family of the late Madeline Mabel Swyer announce her passing on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 77 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 58 years Howard Swyer; children: Maxine (Scott) Newell, Cindy Swyer and Colin (Nicole) Swyer; grandchildren: William Newell, Sarah Newell and Jane Robeck; brother Richard (Ethel) Park; sister: Laverne Blanchard, Irene (Spencer) House and Beverley Park (Dave Touchings); sisters and brothers-in-law: Regina Park, Marie Park, Bert Burridge, Walter Swyer, Sadie White, Eldon (Edna) Swyer, Edward “Ted” (Nina) Swyer, Gladys (Raymond) Payne, Ruby McKay and Ruth Swyer; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Diana Park, sister Linda Burridge, brothers Luke Park and Wallace Park, parents-in-law Edward and Mildred Swyer, sister-in-law Julia “Judy” Swyer, brothers-in-law Edmund Blanchard, George White, Ralph McKay and Larry Riley. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Wednesday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
