Obituary of LOUIS FERREIRA TAVARES
LOUIS FERREIRA TAVARES
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Louis April 1, 2019 at Seven Oaks Hospital.
Louis was predeceased by his wife Idelta, sister Maria Filomena Costa and parents Manuel Tavares Maré, Maria De Conceicão Ferreira De Couto. He will be sadly missed and remembered by his children Lizette and husband Paul, son Bradley and grandson Devon. He also leaves to mourn his passing his sisters Maria de Deus, Maria De Conceicão (Agostinho) numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Louis was born March 25, 1941 in Riberia Seca São Miguel Azores, he immigrated to Canada in 1964.
Throughout his life he worked as a cement finisher at various construction companies. He provided well for his family enabling them to travel several times to Portugal and Toronto to visit family. He retired shortly after his wife’s accident in 2001 and took on the role of caregiver. He found solace in his daily outings to Garden City mall for coffee.
Dad was saddened after mom’s passing in 2017, he missed her dearly. His loneliness contributed to the deterioration of his health.
We take comfort in knowing that our parents are re-united once again.
Prayers will be said on Monday April 8, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Parish at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue West.
