Born on November 26, 1935 in Woodstock, NB the eldest daughter of Marion and Garnet Carpenter. On April 21, 2019 at Oromocto Special Care Home Julia passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Saviour.
Survived and loved by her children, daughter Janet Harding (Ken), grandson Kale Harding (Candace), grandson Neil Harding (Laurie), son David Cummings, son Richard Cummings (Karen), grandson Tyler Cummings. Nana to great-granddaughter Madelyn Gale (mother Kim) and great-grandson Nelson Harding. Brother Wayne Carpenter (Susan) and sister JoAnn Carpenter, Nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and other family members and wonderful friends.
Pre-deceased by her parents Marion and Garnet Carpenter. Husband Willard Cummings (2007). Sister Lois Curtis (brother-in-law Aubrey), Annice Short (brother-in-law Murray) and brother Vernon Carpenter. Grandson Logan Cummings.
Willard and Julia married on January 24, 1953. They were soul mates and stood together as a couple. Mon’s greatest joy in life were her husband and her children, and being nana to grandchildren and then being nana to great-grandchildren. She always wanted to know what was going on in our lives and prayed for each one of her family members.
Dad’s career was in the Royal Bank which meant a lot of moves and Mom was the glue that held the family together. Mom loved to meet new friends in all our moves. She loved to entertain and the first thing when you visited she would ask you is if she could get you something to eat and drink.
Mom was a woman of strong faith, with the church and missions being very important to her.
Until we meet again Mom. We will all miss you.
The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Program, Doctors Sainz and Paulin, and staff at the Oromocto Special Care Home for the compassionate care they provided to Mom. Words cannot express how much your support and loving care has meant to us, and Mom.
Visitation from The Culberson Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 1-2 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm from The Culberson Memorial Chapel. Rev. Craig Woodcock officiating. Spring interment at the Plaster Rock Cemetery. Reception and time of fellowship to follow at the Woodstock Baptist Church.
If so desired, donations to the Woodstock Baptist Building Fund, Canadian Baptist Missions.
