Obituary of John Bolton
BOLTON, John
Passed away peacefully on April 23, 2019 at the age of 90. John’s whole life was spent trying to make people smile and bring joy to everyone. He was a retiree of Firestone, and a large advocate for the unions and supporter for the NDP. He was a proud and strong member of the St. Columba Presbyterian Church. A long time member of the Masonic Lodge, and Rameses Shriner’s where he spent a number of years helping in children’s hospitals to make the children laugh and smile (as the clown Hartz). John was also a Santa Claus at Eastgate Square for 20+ years. He also had a passion for antiquing, making crafts and performing magic. Dearly loved husband of Betty (nee Harris) for 68 years. Loving father to his pre-deceased son John Walter (Sandra) and Father-in-law to Al Kovacs. He will be lovingly remembered by his Grand-Children Lisa Kovacs, Tara (Mark) Aubrey, and Michael Bolton. Adored by his Great-Grand-Daughters, Deanna, Kerstin and Marrissa. He leaves behind his loving siblings Les and Beatrice and many extended family members. A special thanks to all the staff at Heritage Green Nursing Home for the great care and friendship. We would like to thank all of the extended family, friends and neighbours new and old, for all the help they provided over the last few years. Family and friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 1 – 4 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m. ln lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, Alzheimer’s Society of Hamilton, Canadian Cancer Society, or an organization in need.
