Winnifred Jean McArthur
March 29, 1921 – March 14, 2019
WWII Veteran – Surrounded by the love of her family, at Lee Manor, on Thursday morning, March 14th, 2019. Winnifred Jean McArthur (nee Bent), of Owen Sound, passed away peacefully in her 98th year. Jean was the beloved wife of the late John McArthur (2000). Loving mother of David McArthur and his wife, Cathy, of Owen Sound and Paul McArthur and his wife, Brenda, of Orangeville. Proud grandmother of Pamela (Tony), Derek, Anne-Marie, Julia, Christina and Victoria. Jean is survived by her sister, Thelma Harwood, of Ajax and her sister-in-law, Marjorie McArthur, of Owen Sound. Predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Lavina Bent (nee Thorne); her grandson, Michael McArthur; her brother, Reginald Bent (Mary); her sister, Ethel Bent; her sister-in-law, Kathleen Peers; her brothers-in-law, George Harwood, Lawrence McArthur and John Peers.
A Funeral Service for Jean McArthur will be held in the Chapel of the BRIAN E. WOOD FUNERAL HOME, 250 – 14th Street West, Owen Sound, Ontario N4K 3X8 (519-376-7492) on Tuesday, April 16th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Graham Bland officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. If so desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce as an expression of sympathy.
