Mom was a loving woman who had the gift of making people feel welcome. She will be dearly missed. Janina passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Sunnyside Home on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Tadeusz “Ted” Mach. Loving mother of John (late Linda), Zdzislaw “Vic”, Mark (Lyn), Alison (Don Sykora), and “daughter” Elizabeth (John Gilbert). Proud Babcia of Derek (Heidi), Christopher, Michael (Melissa), Megan, Melanie, Sam, Ryan (Laura), Aaron (Johanna) and great-grandmother of James and Brooke. Daughter of the late Michal and Aniela Krawczyk. Survived by her brother Kazimierz in Poland. Predeceased by 3 brothers and one sister. She will be fondly remembered by nieces and nephew Donna Riley, Joanna Kupnicki, Helen Chmiel, Wiesiek Urban and their families, as well as by her extended family in Canada and Poland. Janina was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Church, Christian Mothers Society and the Polish Legion Branch 412. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Sunnyside Home (Laurel Creek) for their kindness and compassionate care of our mother.
Janina’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 66 Shanley St., on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 10 a.m. Interment Parkview Cemetery. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
