Obituary of James William Robbins
James William Robbins
Jim passed away at VON Sakura House Hospice after a courageous battle with colon cancer on April 5th, in his 52nd year.
Sadly he leaves behind his loving partner, Heather McKinnon; devoted daughter Sydney Robbins; brother Michael (Sandra) Robbins; sister Terra (Eric) Deven; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jim was born in St. Thomas on September 5, 1967 and raised in Port Stanley; the son of Gail Ilnisky (Marsh); and Jim (Donna) Robbins.
A special thank you to Dr. R. Black. He also leaves behind many friends from his church baseball team. Like Larry Brett, who was a teammate; a mentor; and provided Jim with spiritual guidance.
Jim was a consummate salesman, who demonstrated his leadership ability throughout his 30+ years of working in retail and leaves behind many friends at The Source stores. Jim was also an avid fan of the Leafs, who ironically, won their last Stanley Cup the year he was born. As in his career, he was very competitive in all aspects of his life, whether it was computer gaming; the baseball diamond; or any other challenge he was confronted with.
Cremation has taken place by St. Thomas Elgin Cremation Service, and a special thanks goes to Bill Denning for the care given to Jim after his passing. There will be no service and the spreading of Jim’s ashes will take place at a later date. If you wish, please make a donation to the St Thomas Elgin General Hospital, or the VON Sakura House Hospice, Woodstock by visiting www.stthomaselgincremation.com or 519 857-5246. A special thanks goes to all of the staff at both facilities for their professionalism and compassionate care.
