James A. Stewart
1922-2019
STEWART JAMES A. – James Alexander Stewart, St. Andrews New
Brunswick, dearly-beloved husband of his late wife Janet M. Stewart,
partner for 72 years plus, passed away 17 April, 2019 at the
Charlotte County Hospital.
Born 26 January 1922. A veteran of World War 2. During that
period, Jim had one of many postings but particularly in Rosyth in
1945 is where he had a Classic “Brief Encounter”, while he
& Janet were both on leave, at Tay Bridge Station Dundee
awaiting mutual train connection to Dunfermline which was start of
courtship and marriage in Tayport, 28 September 1946.
Jim is survived by three sons, Jim (Jane), Ian (Michele) and Barry
(Diane). Seven grandchildren, Maggie, Cameron, Lindsay, Alex,
Brittany, Jonathan
and Taylor: two step-grandchildren, Stephanie and Kimberley; two
great-grandchildren, Kayla and Alyssa.
Jim & Janet moved to Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick in August
1952 when he
accepted position with Connors Bros. Limited.
They enjoyed their summers at the cottage on Lake Utopia. Moved to
St. Andrews in
1979. Travelled extensively in Canada, U.S.(so many N.Y. Broadway
musicals), Britain, Europe, and Caribbean.
Humble, smart, quick witted and very kind. Jim is well remembered by
all he touched. Thank you Jim for your service, reading to children,
volunteer contributions, and all the unwaivering support to those in
need.
Cremation has taken place. No viewing or funeral service.
Donations in memory of Jim to the Charlotte County Cancer Society,
or Hospice of Charlotte would be appreciated by the family. On line
